I started drumming in a German Oom-pah Band in the late 50’s. Shortly after, I played in a dance band and in a Jazz group. I was a live drummer with a DJ in the early 60’s which is where I heard Rock and Roll for the first time. That sparked my career as a serious musician. I played in Rock bands for the next 16 years along with Motown bands off and on. While in the military in Thailand I played with bands in the clubs. In the 70’s I was moving across the country to California and our bus broke down here in New Mexico and I never left. I ended up joining a Country Band in the mid 70's and later started my own country band called Foxfire that went through the 80's. After decades in the bars and clubs and 45 years in country groups I eventually passed my equipment on to my sons, but never lost my love of playing. Josh and I started an Acoustic Duo in 2014 and have been playing ever since.

I've grown up around music since I was born to a dad that is a lifelong musician, who happens to be my current copilot. I started singing R&B music when I was in middle school but didn’t pick up the guitar until I was 18. I dabbled with various types of music until I met the Beatles and then I was sold. I progressed into classic rock, blues, oldies and soon any music I was capable of learning. I appreciate the nuances that come from every genre. I loved the smooth vocals and trills of R&B and soul music but also chased the aggressive sound of rock and roll. I played mostly with family and friends privately until I was brave enough to get in front of others.
Once I got a taste of playing live, I realized there was nothing quite like the feeling of watching everyone enjoy themselves listening to the music we were creating. I have been hooked ever since trying to do my best to help everyone enjoy the music. Thad and I put together our Acoustic duo 7 years ago as something fun and have never looked back.
